Rocky Mt. National Park

My road trip out east and the Great Lakes tour began on August 22nd. Have to be honest it was really hard for me to leave Colorado especially during our very short summer months. But not only that, I have so many wonderful friends that I for sure will miss, all of our hikes, and other adventures… just being present in each other’s life’s…. The reason to be leaving in August was to get to NY for my niece’s wedding and to also spend time with my family; before heading south. That was my loose plan anyway with the only specific date that I had was the wedding and then a conference at the end of September in North Carolina!

Let me back up to the weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) before I finally was able to leave. I had a storage unit sale to let go of most of my furniture and large items. The goal was to downsize my storage unit to the smallest one possible for a monthly payment under hundred dollars. Each day people came by and slowly I was able to start moving the things I knew I wanted to keep into the smaller unit. During these three days was wondering why I hadn’t sold things when they were in the house????

Have you ever thought you were attached to things then later down the road you have this epiphany and wondered why the heck you kept these things in the first place? I for sure was feeling that over these three long days, but when all said and done, was able to help some people set up their homes, got rid of everything that I needed, and was able to keep a few items in a smaller storage for when I purchase my next home down the road.

Ok, on to the fun stuff and beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park which was my first destination on my route very early on Monday morning! I basically drove through the park enjoying the sunrise and not many other people at this time. Couldn’t believe I didn’t see any wildlife though.
