I did make a reservation at the Elderberry Family Farms in Payson Utah (through Harvest Hosts). I absolutely loved their elderberry jam, the flavors are amazing, and I also bought some teas. I didn’t end up staying because I wanted to drive further, but always want to honor my reservation by buying something and I had ordered online ahead of time also. Super nice people and were very gracious, if you are part of Harvest Hosts, I’d for sure make this a stop on your journeys!

Ok, I did learn one thing about my van that I totally forgot about since I live in the mountains and forgot that at some point, I would need an air conditioner. To be honest it never crossed my mind and didn’t realize I would need one until I was in Utah. There were days over 104 degrees, this mountain girl doesn’t do well in heat and it was almost unbearable. I was at a the state park and thankfully had electricity so I could run extra fans and take several showers throughout the day to try to stay cool. I had several meetings so that is why I needed to stay put for a few days. Holy hot buckets….

Once I left Utah, heading into Idaho I stayed at another Harvest Host winery, called the Y Knot Winery. This place was also wonderful. I had a fantastic dinner at their restaurant and tried several types of wines… I was so full, I forgot to buy some wines; but my dinner covered my stay. They didn’t have air conditioning either so between all the wines and food, I was a basket case… 😊

I stayed right next to the vineyards and there were hiking trails all through the vineyards and beyond. So once the sun stopped beating down, I could get and explore a little bit and walk off some of that dinner!!!
