Finally, On The Road!

Welcome to my blog! My posts are going to be a mix of personal, business, food, outdoor stuff, traveling and everything in between. You can look under the category based on your interest! I’m creating this blog for my family and friends as they want to see photos of where I’m traveling, what I’m doing, and the experiences along the way. So if you come upon this blog, awesome, welcome and I look forward to connecting with you!

This is my first weekend for my mobile lifestyle. Living a nomadic lifestyle has been a dream of mine for many years. My lifestyle for the most part has actually been nomadic but doing it this way prevents me having to move my stuff every time I want to explore a new place!!! I have done a lot of backpacking, car camping, tent camping, and living in smaller spaces (sailboat). So the transition from a large home to a tiny home on wheels was not that much of a challenge for me as it would be some others.   (more on this later, the actual preparation it took to be on the road).

Over the years it was always my goal to purchase a Class C rig.  (for those that are unfamiliar a class C is one you drive and is usually under 24 feet long). Then I went back and forth between getting a vintage camper, a small pull behind, or something similar to a vintage camper.

I also doggie sit and stay in people’s homes several days or weeks at a time. So, after I had sold my home, and evaluated how many days I was actually in my home, I realized this may be the perfect time to go for it and hit the road 😊.

How I got interested in vans is beyond me, maybe doing research on YouTube videos and just looking around. I have had my wish list for many years, so I knew exactly what I wanted. I didn’t have time or patience to do a build myself, nor did I want to wait for a build to be done a year from now. So therefor I was looking for one that was already built to close as possible to what I wanted. I scheduled myself to look at six vans in Denver, just to get a better feel if these would work for me.

I found some vans really beautiful online but when I saw them, they were claustrophobic or not laid out well for me. As a side note, if you ever are considering buying any rig, I would absolutely recommend that you see it physically to walk in and be present in the space before making the purchase. To make a long story short, let’s just say I found something that that day, so my journey started right away!!! No more dreaming, it’s do (due) time!

Which brings us to this weekend, some friends had a wonderful campsite booked at Steamboat Lake State Park and were not able to make it, so I took over their site. Photos over the next few days will from that area, the flowers were magnificent but always keep in mind that pictures never capture the true beauty of what I’m actually experiencing.

Hope you enjoy the photos, but at some point if it’s your desire, get out there and physically experience the beauty yourself!

This is looking out to the backside of my campsite through my van!
The campsites are really spacious and beautiful.
