Wisdom Gives Blessings, Life, and Favor

TODAY’S SCRIPTURES PROVERBS 8:22-36

Verses 22-23 The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old; I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be.

Verses 24-26 When there were no watery depths, I was given birth, when there were no springs overflowing with water; before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was given birth before he made the world or its fields or any of the dust of the earth.

Verses 27-29 I was there when he set the heavens in place, when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep, when he established the clouds above and fixed securely the fountains of the deep, when he gave the sea its boundary so the waters would not overstep his command, and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.

Verses 30-33 Then I was constantly at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence, rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind. Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways. Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not disregard it.

Verses 33-36 Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord. But those who fail to find me harm themselves; all who hate me love death.

CATHY’S THOUGHTS PROVERBS 8:22-36

Verses 22-23 wisdom has been with God from the beginning, wisdom comes from God. This is something that God WANTS us to have. It’s amazing, not only does God want a personal relationship with us, He has also given us the opportunity for eternal life, and on top of it He WANTS us to make really good choices and be wise. Amazing…

Verses 24-26 love the nature analogy, that was given just for me. Wisdom was created before any other creation, before water, mountains, or even people. Wisdom was so important that God had that in place well before He created Adam and Eve.

Verses 27-29 read this passage again, wisdom is given from God. God almighty has given all this to us. How can anyone look at nature and not see God’s hand in everything. Think about the sky with it’s clouds, sunshine, stars, galaxies. Think about the sea with an entire community and ecosystem underwater, fish, plants, and other beautiful life beings. Think about those boundaries when you watch the ocean come onto the beach, it only goes so far… really how is that? Then when you take a birds eye view of the entire earth, it’s vastness, beauty, differences, and how it’s all laid out. God Almighty, the one who wants to give us wisdom created all of that (everything)… I don’t know about you, but I want that wisdom.

Verses 30-33 Wisdom was constantly with God, right by his side. Again, I don’t know about you, but I want to be with God, walking beside God, and possess God’s wisdom. I want to be blessed, I want to stay on the path that God has ordained me for, and I want to be wise. There is yet another warning to NOT discard this message or wisdom.

Verses 33-36 Blessed, life, and favor from the Lord are all promised when we seek Him and seek His wisdom. Those who don’t will suffer, will not have eternal life, and they will bring harm to themselves and those around them.

Make sure you keep your daily Holy Appointment, seek God and what He is trying to show you each day, draw close to Him and be aware of the goodness and favor He has already provided to you, and most importantly seek His almighty wisdom.
